Lockdown Day 84 - Thursday 18 June

We had the most amazing visit by 3 large breeding herds of elephants all at the same time. There was some argy- bargy between some of the young males. A few of the babies were still very tiny and had to be helped up the river banks by the mothers. And then after an hour or so they all disappear into the bush and it's as if they were never here. Just a memory. And that's the magic of the bush.
I spent a few hours clearing up my Google drive and Gmail. The Perpetual Existence of Admin. A sign that we're still alive and functional in this modern world.
We tried to celebrate Andrew's 60th over Zoom but our data connection has been iffy for a few days. Happy Birthday, Andrew! May we soon be traveling, camping and partying again together!
We had a bit of an Ottolenghi day in the kitchen. I made his Mediterranean Fried Rice for brunch and Moussaka for dinner. (Traditional style - just inspired by his recipe.) Washed down with David and Nadia Pinotage from the Swartland.
