there's no place like... Phuket...or Singapore

Arriving at Capri in Patong really does feel at bit like coming home. I love discovering new places but it does feel good to return to the old favourites too. We are happy tootling around on a scooter visiting all our favourite spots - Song Pee Nong and Da no 1 for dinner, Sole Mio for sunset cocktails, the Rocks (our name for No Name)for the view,CnN for a foot massage, Tums for late night live music and of course Ka Jok See for the best party ever! Some things do change though - this year the Ship Wreck bar has moved, and in it's place is the Black Horse, but it still has the best view of all the goings on in Bangla road! Carrefour has become Big C but looks just the same. We bought a toaster for 200 Bt; just like last year and were dismayed when their bakery oven broke down and we couldn't get the usual German style bread for breakfast.Anyone who has tried the Asian weightless, sweet, pure white bread with a 3 month plus shelf life will know why an on-the-premises bakery is essential!Natalie joined us for a few weeks and it was great to show her all our best kept secrets in Patong.Dave partyed with us and Nats at Ka Jok See but only managed 2 out of the 6 hours at the Aussie Bar watching the longest and best ever Grand Slam Tennis Final between Dokovic and Nadal! Andries and Bill also had something of a "lets throw them in at the deep end" night out on Bangla.Rob decided to keep his boat in Phuket for a while longer, so we had a wonderful opportunity to sail all over Pang Na Bay and down to Pi Pi Island and back. It took me a while to find my sea legs but the boys did get a few days of great wind and wonderful sailing. Thanks Rob and Andries! And then we flew to Singapore. As always it was great to see so many friends and catch up. We had fun introducing Nikki to Singapore and helping her find a place to stay.I do miss living in Singapore every time I go back and our old neighbourhood seems to be the in place these days!
