Phuket 2019: The Beaches

We're in Phuket for two months. We're loving it. It's the place I chill and recharge. I've even caught up on this blog! Larry and Jean joined us for a few weeks. They got it. They had an amazing time. There're too many great moments to write about but hopefully the pictures will tell the story. Or at least part of it. Nikki and Ranj popped over from Singapore for a weekend. Peter, Nana, Rob and Joy drove down from Hua Hin for a week. Barbara and Gavin came from Hong Kong for a few days. Michael and Lisa, too. We also hung out with our favourite locals..Debbie, Gary and Blaze. More, fun, more good times. Thanks for great memories.

 Beach and Waterside Restaurant combos

We prefer these to Beach Clubs and rather than renting a lounger for the whole day, we claim a table with a view. You can swim and lie out on the sand all you want and there's always cold beer, cocktails, coffee and food back at the table. And toilets.

Koh Rang Yai
Still the best. Catch a long tail boat from Laem Hin. Arrive early. Reserved deckchairs and private  dining with your feet in the sand.
Leave by 2pm when the island hopping day tours get annoying.

Northern Patong and Ocean Restaurant/ The Rocks
Our local beach.
Ocean Restaurant has a great view.
And even better..The Rocks or No Name restaurant reopened.
Central Patong and Sole Mio
Sole Mio has been our all time favourite sunset spot for 10 years. Come late afternoon for swimming followed by happy hour cocktails. Or just come for happy hour cocktails.
The sunsets are different every day.
Brasserie Yacht Club at Ao Yon Beach
Chilled atmosphere, good quality food and wine. Great massage place next door. With an option to shower and head into Phuket Town for the evening.
Merlin Beach and Little Tiger.
Go at high tide for swimming. Stay for sunset. Or pop around to Kn for a view of  Patong Bay before heading back to Patong.

Kamala Beach and Deng's.
Come for a late breakfast. Stay as long as you want to.
They have mats if you want to dry off or tan a bit.

Surin Beach and one of the food shacks.
Shade and cheap cocktails.
