Lockdown Day 11- Monday 6 April

We had many visitors over the course of the day. Giraffe by the river.  Hippos launching from the opposite bank. Warthogs rolling in the mud. Two magnificent Kudu bulls trimming our trees.
We had pizza for brunch and oxtail for dinner. Oxtail cooked with carrots, butternut and sweet potato and served with pap. Best meal of lockdown so far.
All evening the valley was filled with the sound of lions roaring. In the middle of the night we were woken by loud knawing noises coming from the kitchen. As soon as I put the light on things went silent. In the morning I discovered the bottom corners of a kitchen cupboard chewed and a pile of wood chips on the floor. No rodents anywhere in sight.
