Lockdown Day 13 - Wednesday 8 April

In contrast to the day before the weather stayed cold and windy all day; signaling the departure of the last of the migrant birds, I think. We haven't seen the Woodlands Kingfishers for a few days now.
I cooked up a storm in the kitchen again. I am much more waste concious here, using up leftovers and improvising or adapting recipes. The Asian soy and orange chicken with red pepper was delicious.
Luckily our wine stocks are holding out. We did pack a lot when we left the farm. We've had some specials like Eagle's Nest Shiraz and Rijks Chenin Blanc and some that are good for lockdown like Stay Brave and Survivor.
I love looking at the pics Google photos highlights from the same day in past years.
Last year we were at Maizefield Farm and 12 years ago we were in snowy Munich preparing for retirement and a life of travel. Change is one of the few certainties in life.
