Lockdown Day 23 - Saturday 18 April

Another cooler and cloudy day. We spent the morning on the balcony; reading, drinking coffee and watching birds. A pair of Saddle-billed Storks paid us a visit, feasting on small fish in the shallow water. I have included a close-up pick ( not mine )of a female for those who don't know this  beautiful bird. The male has a dark eye and a yellow wattle, otherwise the sexes are identical. They are a threatened species.
I spent the afternoon cooking for the Global Grub Zoom Party.
Starter: Gazpacho : Spain
Main: Stuffed Vegetables : GreeceDessert : Apple Steamed Pudding : Britian
We checked out everyone else's food. French, Indian, Vietnamese, Italian, Polish, Indonesian.
As always, we enjoyed our evening on Zoom but most of us are craving some real contact by now. The reality is that even after lockdown is lifted, social distancing will be the norm for months to come. That means no catching up with friends at restaurants, no weekends with crazy parties at the farm and no staying with the family. Life will be different for sure.
