Kalagadi National Park Nossob Camp

Sunday 10 January
Lockdown Day 290
We travelled across the dune road to Nossob. We couldn't believe the water everywhere. We saw great herds of Gemsbok, Springbok and Wildebeest. We have seen such magnificent raptors especially Marshall and Tawny eagles. We saw tawny eagles flocking and another group at a carcass among the lappetfaced vultures. And so many ostriches with youngsters of all sizes. The chalets at Nossob are air-conditioned so we sheltered from the midday heat reading the Sunday papers. I made a Thai Beef Salad while our coriander, basil and mint are still fresh. And then the rain came down in buckets so we cancelled our afternoon drive. Because we are in the park for 16 nights, it's really nice not to feel pressured to be out on drives all the time. The rain stopped long enough for us to braai but it was stormy throughout the night. We found the most delicious Beef Sosaties at Wickens Butchery in Upington and I suggest you stock up whenever you are driving through.
