Tembe Elephant Lodge,Tembe Game Reserve

Friday 4th December to Sunday 6th December
Lockdown Day 253 to 255
As you can see, now that the "Festive Season Bubble" has burst and it's just "us two" again, I am catching up on my blogging.
Tembe Elephant Lodge is a rustic, private tented camp and a joint venture with the local community.
Two game drives a day and all meals are included. Kulu our guide is very knowledgeable about birds in the area and was able to show us some of the endemics like the Grey Waxbill and the Pink Throated Twinspot. Lifers for us were the Neergard's Sunbird and the Bluemantled Crested Flycatcher. The Crested Guinea Fowl roam around the dining area.
The bush is pretty dense for animal spotting but we did see the elephants and at pretty close quarters at times. And lions at one of the hides. It rained quite a bit while we were there so one afternoon we opted for GnTs in the Maggs' tent instead of a very wet and windy time sitting on the open game vehicle.
