Safari 2021: Into Namibia : Fish River Canyon and Luderitz

Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 May
Lockdown Day 406 to 408

Armed with passports and negative PCRs we all crossed the border into Namibia on Thursday. Ah, once again it felt so freeing to be able to travel "abroad". Homeless, nomadic, world-traveller has become a big part of who I am over the last decade or two and it's been hard to always and easily accept the limitations of lockdown.
The Magg's caravan lost a tyre on the harsh dirt road but we made it to Canyon Roadhouse before dark.
We were away by sunrise to see the Fish River Canyon. We stopped at the Bahnhof Hotel in Aus for lunch.
We were lucky to see the wild, desert horses. Driving in Namibia is amazing. The landscape changes constantly and the sense of space is awesome. We checked into Cormorant House in Luderitz again. The others visited Kolmanskop Ghost Town on Saturday but we chose to enjoy our view and catch up on admin. We drove out to Dias Point and we were all blown away.
