We packed up at Punda Maria in the rain. It's fabulous that Kruger is getting good early summer rain but not fun to pack up in the wet. We were held up for ages by hundreds of elephants on the road out of camp. They were all drinking the water off the tarmac. We arrived at Mopani for lunch and to check in to Tsendze Bush Camp. A few kilometres outside Mopani, we watched a lioness guarding her wilderbeest kill from the vultures. At the site we spotted a side striped jackal; very rare compared to the usual black backed jackals you see in Kruger. We pitched camp in the rain and ate soup and stew as it was too wet to braai.
