December 26th to January 5th
Lockdown Day 275 to 285
Our next party bubble included Hanli and Andrew, Tommy and Mandy and Ann. Days of relaxing with no agenda. And beautiful warm weather to keep us outdoors all the time. We all moved over to House 120, Hanli and Andrew's place, on the 31st. Colette and Mariette joined us all for Tapas and Paella to celebrate New Year's Eve. In the face of rapidly rising Covid infections South Africa went back into Lockdown and we were grateful to be in a place where we were not hampered by curfews and beach closures. And we had learnt from the last time; never let your cellar and bar stocks run low.
Rina and Menon joined us again on the 2nd. The fun and games and impromptu parties and slow mornings and gourmet cooking continued to our own fabulous Spotify soundtrack : 80s Mixtape meets 90s Dance meets Indie Cool meets Ratpack Crooners and one hundred versions of Summertime. The living is easy... for a few days in our bubble in the bush...despite the chaos out there. More messages every day of people we know down with the virus. Infection rates hitting new peaks and hospitals filling up not only in South Africa but in the UK, Europe and the USA too. We are so privileged to have enjoyed such a normal time in such an awesome place. Goodbye 2020 and good riddence. You shall not be missed.
