Namibia 2022 : Augrabies, Aus Vista and Luderitz

Thursday 6 January 2022 to Tuesday 11 January 2022
Following on from the great road trips in Namibia we had in 2021, we decided to stay "local", postponing our plans for Cuba and Mexico due to the ongoing Pandemic.
6 January
So we found ourselves back at the farm packing the caravan for another epic trip. Our group. Gail and Neil. Johan and Ronel. Rina and Menon.
7 January
If you ever need a good overnight BnB stop in Vryburg I can recommend Villa Lin Zane just outside town and they offer a steak dinner if you don't feel like getting your braai stuff out for one night.
8 and 9 January
We stopped in Upington for last minute shopping and a wine tasting at Orange River Vineyards.
We spent two nights at Augrabies Falls. The falls were in flood again this year. Completely awesome.
10 January
A very easy border crossing and a stop for lunch at Canyon Roadhouse.
With an easy run down to Aus Vista. The campsite is set in a valley with surrounding stark desert landscapes; windswept and pretty cold at night.
11January
We drove out to Kolmanskop, the abandoned mine that's been overun by the desert; for an hour of fun phone photography - serious photographers come from all over the world for this bucket list location! We drove into Luderitz for lunch.
There was much less wind than usual for exploring the beaches around Luderitz.
